M365 Blogging Journey Recap in Summer
The summer has arrived, signaling a time to pause work and embrace relaxation. For me, it’s an opportunity to focus on myself, spend quality time with family, and indulge in the luxury of doing… nothing at all! 😉
It’s also the perfect moment to reflect on the year so far. This marks the third summer for this blog and it’s astonishing how quickly time flies.
This year has been a transformative one for me professionally. I transitioned from a broad M365 workplace consultant role to a focused M365 administrator position. This shift has significantly altered my daily tasks, prompting me to pivot my blog’s focus toward administrative perspectives on M365 platforms, while stepping back from development and customization topics.
A Look Back at the First Half of 2025
The past six months have been remarkable. I kicked off the year with a deep dive into the Recycle Bin in SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint Embedded, exploring both user and admin perspectives. The article, 9 Essential Facts About the SharePoint Online Recycle Bin, was particularly well-received by readers.
Next, I tackled SharePoint Online quotas and document versioning—two critical topics for understanding and managing tenant storage. These posts culminated in a comprehensive guide, Never Fear M365 Storage Again!, which tied together storage considerations with licensing insights to help admins optimize available space.
I also explored Microsoft Loop, a relatively new service for note-taking and collaboration. My article, Mastering Microsoft Loop Storage Management: A Guide for Administrators and Users, clarified how storage works for Loop components, pages, and Copilot pages, depending on where they’re created.
Another highlight was demystifying Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Chat, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. For those wondering which version they’re using or have access to, my post, Microsoft Copilot, Chat, 365: The Easy Explanation You've Been Waiting For, provided clear answers.
Starting in April, I delved deeper into OneDrive, Exchange, SharePoint Embedded, SharePoint Agents, and M365 administration. Three standout posts were 3 Ways to Organize Folder Structures for Copilot Agents in SharePoint Online, SharePoint Alerts Are Retiring — Let’s Talk About What That Means, and SharePoint Embedded Storage Surprises: What Admins Need to Know, both of which resonated strongly with readers.
What’s Next for the Blog
After August, I’m excited to dive into new M365 topics, including retention, compliance, provisioning, management, automation, and governance. Expect continued coverage of SharePoint Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Embedded, Exchange, Copilot, Purview, M365 Admin Center, and Loop—these services remain the stars of the blog.
A Milestone Worth Celebrating
By the end of August, Intranet from the Trenches is projected to surpass 75,000 reads—a milestone I never imagined reaching. This achievement underscores the blog’s core mission: to learn, share knowledge, and engage with the M365 community. I’m eager to hear from you! What challenges are you facing? Are you a SharePoint Online enthusiast, a Loop skeptic who prefers OneNote, or an admin seeking strategies to manage Teams or secure tenant data? Reach out via Substack, LinkedIn, or Mastodon with your questions, concerns, or suggestions for future topics—I’m all ears!
Wrapping Up for Summer
As I step away to recharge this August, I wish you a wonderful vacation if you’re taking one, or fond memories if your summer break is already behind you. Here’s to relaxing, reflecting, and returning refreshed.
See you in September!
